Long ago, the people of Atlantis were cursed. Their world sank into the great blue waters surrounding the sacred island. They've lived all these centuries deep within the ocean as dolphin-shifters -- avoiding the world of men. If Prince Reil cannot find a land-dweller to be his mate by his twenty-fifth birthday, he will be a dolphin forever. Riel decides it's better to die as half a man than live as all of a fish. He leaves the safety of what he knows for a world he can't imagine.
Caprice is on vacation with her girlfriends. She's been planning this cruise for two years, so when she becomes separated from them, and sees her ship sailing away, she's crushed. As she walks down the beach, watching the sun sink in the horizon, she wonders what she's going to do. Then she sees the hottest blond ever and decides being stranded doesn't mean her time in paradise is ruined.
Just because she missed the boat doesn't mean she's missed the fun.

Everything was so beautiful. Today had been the most gorgeous one of the trip, so far. Caprice felt more carefree than she had in months. The tropical flowers smelled amazing. The local people selling souvenirs set a movie-perfect beachfront scene. She'd been snapping pictures like crazy. There were so many great memories on her camera she knew she'd go broke when she went to the photo kiosk to have them printed. Overall, this cruise was exactly what the doctor ordered.
The strangest sound came from beyond the busy wooden walkway. She glanced back to see her friends haggling over some sea glass ornaments. They were engrossed in the transaction. She decided to go take a quick look. The sound was almost a clicking, but there was something so incredibly lyrical about the tone she wanted to cry. She'd never heard anything more harmonious. Whatever local musician was making the sound needed to get an agent and start a new trend. She could just imagine sitting in the bubble bath with her eyes closed meditating to that heavenly soundtrack.
The path became narrower and the foliage grew thicker. She couldn't hear the sound of the dock any longer. The growing cadence of her mysterious new favorite sound only made her more desperate to get to the source. If she found some islander with a stack of CDs, she'd buy them all! Everyone needed the chance to experience the euphoria that filled her. Tears leaked unhindered from the corners of her eyes.
She took a deep, shaking breath as she relished the peaceful feeling this magical composition created inside of her soul. Nothing she'd ever seen or heard could compare to the emotions this bizarre combination of clicks and squeals made her feel. It was noise, but stupendously spiritual.
The path ended and she stepped out of the cool shade onto a sunny pristine sand-covered beach. The white sand and glittering blue water hurt her eyes because it was so very bright. She pulled her sunglasses out of her purse. The harmony of the strange noise-melody ended. Crushing disappointment filled her. She couldn't see any sign of the genius who'd created the life affirming music. In the distance a horn blew, loudly.
"Oh shit!" Caprice screamed as she turned back toward the path. Branches slapped at her as she rushed back in the direction she'd come from. A second blow and she prayed her friends had alerted the ship's personnel that she was missing. Her sunglasses fell off, and she dropped her camera, but she kept going. "Don't be gone. Don't be gone. Oh please, don't be gone," she chanted as she hurried back toward the dock. She hadn't realized how far she'd gone. Her mind had become so consumed by what she was hearing that she'd been in some sort of trance. "I'm here, wait," she cried as she made it back out to the dock. The impressive cruise ship had left the port. She rushed to the edge of the water and used her hand to shade her eyes. In the distance, she could see the disappearing speck that was the Sea Princess.
"Damn it!"
She sat down on the sand and let the surf hit her sandaled feet. All she had was her bag, minus a few things she'd lost in her desperate jog, and the white sundress on her back. She didn't know if they'd come back for her, but she decided to wait there just in case they did.
She checked her watch. A full hour had passed with no sign of her ride. Several of the islanders had given her curious looks. Caprice rested her chin on her knees. She'd have to ask for help soon. Maybe someone at the port knew how to contact the ship, or at least where the nearest airport was. She'd have to get home somehow. Her vacation time was up in four days.
Great, now I'll have to spend the rest of my savings getting home, and still probably wind up fired. This is just super. My bad luck came on the trip after all. I thought I left it at home, but oh no, here it is.
Forcing the self-pity away, she stood up while brushing the sand off the back of her dress. A sound caught her attention. She turned toward the foliage-choked path again.
The beautiful noise returned. She closed her eyes and just let herself sway to the melodic clicks and whirrs of the bizarre song. She could hear it more clearly this time. It sounded closer. Picking up her bag, she rushed to follow the tune, ignoring the looks people were giving her. They acted as if this amazing harmony didn't matter.
Sliding the bag's straps over her shoulder, she decided these people must hear it all the time and had lost their appreciation for the beauty. She rushed toward the music again and kept her eye out for her camera and sunglasses. The odds that she would ever see them again were not good, but Caprice still held hope. When you lived every day cursed with bad luck, all you had was your denial to keep the crushing depression at bay.
The music grew louder. She hurried along, excited by how close she was coming to the source. She wanted a CD. That would make this disastrous venture off the ship worthwhile.
There had to be a musician making the sound. She stumbled across the foliage-congested trail and battled against the branches that slapped at her as she navigated the dark path. Her sunglasses and camera didn't turn up, but she wasn't looking very hard for them. That song -- she had to find where it was coming from. Her body swayed uncontrollably as she embraced a passionate frenzy of perfect musical euphoria.
Caprice swiped at the tears on her cheeks. She hadn't even realized she was crying. Her whole body felt alive -- on fire -- with a desire unlike anything she'd ever known. She felt her pussy clench. Her panties rubbed against her clit as she moved and for a moment, she was tempted just to stop and masturbate. What the fuck is wrong with me? What is this music doing to me? Her mind whirled with questions about this ridiculous response to the surreal tune, but she felt helpless to stop the physiological changes the sound seemed to be having on her body.
