Although he doesn't understand why his brother chose to bond with a human female, Noah agrees to be the official cyborg witness at the birth of the cyborg/human couple's first son. When he arrives on the human space station, he finds himself face to face with a female pilot, an unheard of occupation for a female on the cyborg home world of Terras Five. Hailey's cute, she's sassy, she's sexy and she doesn't automatically defer to him just because he's male. Noah finds that combination irresistible.
After a night of amazing sex, Hailey heads off on a reconnaissance mission with her squadron, and Noah arranges to spend a little more time in the human world to get the sassy redhead out of his system. But when her ship goes missing, it's up to Noah to use all the tricks of his cyborg heritage to track her down and rescue her.
"Taming the Cyborg was a fast paced book that had me completely immersed in the plot that flowed smoothly from beginning to end. It was exciting and romantic with characters that I adored... the author had me craving my very own bossy Cyborg to sweep me off of my feet. I really enjoyed this short story and absolutely recommend it to anyone."

The human female caught his attention the minute she strode into the launch bay. Long red-gold hair slid in a silken sheen down her back, and her sapphire blue eyes glimmered with confidence. She lifted one arm to salute the officer on deck before sauntering over to join a group of pilots on the far side of the bay. The tight flight suit did little to hide the outline of her sleekly muscled full figure, and sent his imagination to places it hadn’t been in ages. His pants became uncomfortably tight as his cock reacted enthusiastically to the visual stimulation.
Intriguing. There were a dozen similarly attired females in the launch bay, but his body reacted only to this one? She hadn’t so much as glanced in his direction. Cocking his head, he used his genetically enhanced hearing to enable him to eavesdrop on the squad’s conversation.
“Hailey!”
The other pilots greeted her heartily, slapping her on the back in a most inappropriately unfeminine display of camaraderie.
“Rumor has it you had a confab with the head honcho. Did he tell you what’s up with the borderlands? It would be nice to get some time off station.” The speaker was a short female, slight in stature with a cap of dark curls.
The red-haired female shook her head. “He asked a lot of questions about our ready status but wouldn’t even hint at what was going on.” She stiffened as a rowdy human male staggered over to run a hand suggestively down her arm. Even from this distance, Noah could see the danger signals as she settled back on the balls of her feet, her fingers flexing almost imperceptibly.
When the man moved a step closer, the female exploded into action, her elbow connecting with the unfortunate crewman’s ribcage while she swept her foot across the floor to send him tumbling to the ground.
With his enhanced hearing, her snarling words of rejection were easy for Noah to catch and he realized this wasn’t the first time that particular male had tried to force his attentions on her. What was wrong with these humans that they allowed their females to be accosted, forced to defend themselves against males of their own species? Noah shook his head. Humans were a strange bunch. No wonder his ancestors had opted to separate themselves from such barbaric ancestors.
“Don’t you think you’re being a bit hard on him, Hailey?” The dark-haired female watched the rejected male hurry away. “He’s got a lot of pull with the commander, and you never know when that might come in handy.”
Hailey dusted herself off and leaned against the side of a scout ship, the corner of her mouth curling up in a dismissive grin. “If I wanted a favor from the commander, I’d seduce him, not one of his underlings.”
The other female snickered. “That’s our Hailey. Nothing if not direct. No wonder you’ve never settled down.”
Hailey shrugged. “I’ve never found a man worth giving up my freedom for. Equality is a nice concept, but you know who is going to be doing the childbearing and slogging through piles of itty bitty laundry.”
A very basic truth, Noah thought, and one of the reasons that the cyborg colonies operated on a different social structure than that embraced by the humans. Equal or not, females were the only ones who could bear the next generation and as such they needed to be cherished and protected.
Pairings on the cyborg planets were arranged based on an exhaustive study of both the male and female’s genetic traits. The goal was to ensure the healthiest and most intelligent offspring. The females did have the final say however, and were free to reject any male that they did not wish to engage with. Permanent couplings were frowned on, as they lessened the genetic diversity of the colony as a whole. His oldest brother, Jebediah, was one of the few exceptions. He’d met and bonded to a human female, which was why Noah was here now.
Jebediah’s female was about to give birth, and cyborg law required a witness to the event if the offspring were to be given citizen status on Terras Five. He felt a twinge of annoyance. It would have been so much simpler if Jebediah had simply brought the woman to the cyborg home world of Terras Five to birth the child. Consulting his internal clock, Noah sighed. Time to tear his attention away from the intriguing human female and go find his sibling.
