AT THE MOVIES

Ocean's 8
Director: Gary Ross
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, and more...
Debbie Ocean gathers an all-female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala.
Okay, here's the situation. Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), Danny's younger sister, has just gotten out of jail after a 5 year stretch. Five years of jail time for being the pawn in someone else's scam gives a girl a lot of time to think. Debbie is out of prison, looking up some old friends for a heist she's given a lot of thought to -- lifing priceless jewels from the biggest event in the world, the annual Met Gala.
It's a motley crew that includes risk-taker Lou (Cate Blanchett), an actress (Anne Hathaway), a pickpocket (Awkwafina), a fencer (Sarah Paulson), a jeweler (Mindy Kaling), a hacker (Rihanna), and a designer (Helena Bonham Carter). Watching their plan come together, and watching the one who sent Debbie to prison become tangled in their web, is compelling stuff. It's a well-written film infused with comedy, drama, stellar acting, and some really great dialogue.
The film is rated PG-13 and 110 minutes long which goes by all too fast. If you're a fan of the orignal Ocean's movies or the three films starring George Clooney (Danny Ocean), this is a must see for you. Would also make an excellent date movie.
Enjoy!
