AT THE MOVIES

Logan Lucky
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Starring: Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, and more.

Two brothers attempt to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race in North Carolina.

I'm reviewing a new-to-me movie called Logan Lucky from 2017. There's a good reason that I'm doing it too. It's a realy comedy treat.

Channing Tatum stars as a down-on-his-luck construction guy who has lost his job. He's also in danger of having his young daughter move with her mother and stepfather to another state and he's powerless to stop it. So Jimmy Logan does what Logans do -- he crafts a plan to get his hands on the money he needs to make his world straight again.

His brother Clyde Logan (Driver) is former military and is a one-armed bartender in a local dive bar. He's reluctant to get involved in his brother's "cauliflower plan" because there's a curse on the Logan family that he's fond of revisiting. That and one of his brother's hairbrained schemed landed him in Juvie when he was a teen.

The rest of the movie is the brothers and their sister Mellie (Keough) constructing and executing their plan with the help of an incarcerated explosives expert (Craig) and several others. They're planning to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the rest of the film is one crazy ride.

The film is PG-13 and just under two hours. It was fun, well executed, and clever honestly in all the things you didn't know about the heist until the end of the movie. The actors did a wonderful job, the plot was fast-moving, and it wasn't hard to understand.

I'm really wondering how I missed this film?

There's some language, no sex, no real violence, and a lot of laughs. Enjoy!
