Don't Breathe 2
Director: Rodo Sayagues
Starring:
Stephen Lang, Madelyn Grace, Brendan Sexton III, Adam Young, and more.
The sequel is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.
In a sequel to the 2016 original film, we catch up with Norman Nordstrom. The blind man whose home was invaded in the first film lives in isolation with a young girl he rescued from a house fire when she was smaller. He treats her like a daughter and trains her like a soldier.
Then the past catches up with them both. When kidnappers show up to take the girl, Norman takes the fight on. We learn a bit more about this dangerous and enigmatic man. We also learn a little more about the girl he's taken in.
Honestly, I liked this movie better than the original film. It's violent and gory, sure. But it has a lot more heart. For me, this film had everything I wanted from the original movie. It shed some light on Norman's backstory. It also made me realize that first impressions aren't always correct. The story arc for the girl was one I didn't guess and it added a level of depth to the story.
The film is rated R and is just over an hour and a half in length. Considering the violent content, it's just right. Action film fans will enjoy this outing as will fans of mild horror. I recommend it.
